  Nephew of late President Muhammadu Buhari, Mamman Daura, has recounted what transpired during the last moment of the former President.   In an interview with Thisday Daura revealed that he was with Buhari on Saturday, July 12 and that preparations were already made for the former President’s return to Nigeria.   According to Daura, efforts were being made to settle the hotel bills of those who had travelled to London in support of Buhari ahead of his planned discharge.   He explained that he left Buhari’s bedside in high spirits on Saturday, with plans to return on Sunday, as Buhari had looked forward to a scheduled visit by his doctor that morning.  

  The Nigerian military has designated nine senior officers from the Army, Navy, and Air Force to serve as pallbearers at the funeral of former President Muhammadu Buhari. The two-star Generals, all currently serving in Abuja, have reportedly arrived in Katsina ahead of the arrival of Buhari’s remains from London.   According to military sources, the selected pallbearers comprise three Major Generals, three Rear Admirals, and three Air Vice Marshals. Their inclusion underscores the former president’s close association with the armed forces, having ruled Nigeria both as a military head of state and later as a civilian president.
